Jay Nickerson is originally from a small town in Canada called Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. He received his Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University, later graduating with distinction from the University of New Brunswick with a Bachelor of Education (concentration in Early Childhood Studies).

Straight out of University, Jay taught English to Grade 1 and 2 at the Guiyang Concord College of Sino-Canada. Jay embarked on his international journey four years ago, stepping into ISNS as a Grade 1 Homeroom teacher.

With his experience and knowledge in the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and New Brunswick Curriculum and his understanding of the School and its community, Jay transitioned into the Head of Admissions role and now has added External Public Relations to his title.

Jay is passionate about inquiry-based learning and is proud to be a member of the ISNS family. ISNS has given him the opportunity to follow his dreams and become a world traveler by taking every opportunity to grow as a global citizen. He is excited to start this new journey as Head of Admissions with expert colleagues who share his love for teaching and education.
